Mitsuru Sugaya received the inaugural "Motor Sports Grand Prize" award on November 5, 2003 at the stage of Makuhari Messe in Makuhari City, Chiba Pref.. This prize has been created by The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA) and sent the first award to Mitsuru Sugaya.
